KindKey Privacy Policy

KindKey is a keyboard app made by NOMOI LLC. This policy explains what KindKey does with your information. It is written to be read, not to hide behind legal language.

The short version

KindKey works entirely on your phone by default. It does not send your typing anywhere unless you turn on one optional feature, Smart sentence fixing. It shows no ads and sells nothing.

What stays on your phone

These never leave your device:

• The words you type and the keys you press.
• The way you tap, which KindKey uses to fit the keyboard to your hands.
• Words KindKey learns that you use often, and small typo fixes it learns from your corrections.
• Contact names, if you allow the contacts permission. KindKey asks for it for one reason: so the names of your family and friends are spelled right as you type them, instead of being changed into other words. The names are read on your phone, used only for suggestions, and are never sent anywhere.

The one feature that uses the internet

Smart sentence fixing is off until you turn it on in settings. When it is on, and only then, KindKey sends the sentence you just finished, and the sentence before it for context, to NOMOI's correction helper to fix spelling and grammar. It comes straight back corrected.

• Before sending, KindKey removes long number sequences, email addresses, and web links, so things like card numbers and one-time codes are not sent.
• NOMOI's helper uses your text only to return the correction. The text is not stored and is not used to build a profile of you.
• Each installation has a random token that our helper uses to recognise repeat requests and prevent abuse. It is not linked to your name or to an advertising identifier.
• The connection is encrypted.
• You can turn this feature off at any time, and the keyboard keeps working fully without it.

What KindKey does not do

• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
• No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.
• No third-party analytics or tracking software in the keyboard.

Deleting your information

The learned words and settings live on your phone. Clearing KindKey's data in your phone's Settings removes them. Because Smart sentence fixing does not store your text, there is nothing held on our side to delete.

Children

KindKey is not directed at children.
